Founded in 2015 in Amsterdam, Shenanigan began as a collaboration between a conscious fashion designer, a group of Human Geography students, tailor Tahirou Sané’s team, and the Silent Work Foundation. Every Shenanigan product is proudly crafted in Toubacouta, Senegal.
Made in Senegal
Our items are produced with care in Senegal by Tahirou and his team. Tahirou is not only a masterful designer and tailor—creating elegant dresses and suits for special occasions, like the local football team’s championship—but he’s also known as Toubacouta’s best board game player! Beyond his design skills, Tahirou is passionate about passing on his craft to the next generation, mentoring local youth like Youssouiha and Noëlle in the art of tailoring.
Profit?
That would be nice! Think about what we would do with all that money! But moneywise we are not so succesfull. We are trying to even out our expenses and we rely on volunteer contributions for a large part. But our true profit is:
- Connecting with all kinds of people
- Providing honest work for a hearing-impaired community
- Enjoying the journey of building a positive impact brand
- Bringing smiles to faces everywhere with our Shenanigans
Why the Silent Work Foundation?
Like us, the Silent Work Foundation believes everyone, regardless of nationality, orientation, or background, has the right to develop their talents. The foundation’s mission is to empower hearing-impaired individuals worldwide, helping them lead independent lives and become active members of society. Thanks to Silent Work, Tahirou was able to open his studio in Toubacouta. Shenanigan is proud to support this cause. Next to collaborating with Tahirou’s team, Shenanigan is donating one euro for every product sold to the foundation. Curious about Silent Work’s mission? Visit their website to learn more!
